Land Fitness

The Wellness and Fitness programs at the Woodlands are part of a community-oriented exercise and wellness initiative for people of all ages and levels of mobility. Our state-of-the-art, accessible Wellness Center provides adaptive equipment that enables participants to exercise and improve their overall health without barriers. The center offers fitness, sports, and recreation programs. A wellness speaker series focuses on areas such as nutrition, life style and mental health.

Fitness Challenge

The Woodlands Fitness Challenge is a dynamic goal-oriented fitness program specifically designed for individuals with special needs. It is a group circuit training program that will improve health and skill related fitness components: cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance, body composition, flexibility, speed, power, agility, balance, and coordination. Those enrolled in the Fitness Challenge will be recognized based upon progression through the program. A personal assistant may be required depending on the participant’s ability.

Days/Times: 12 - week sessions - Mondays and Wednesdays 6:00 - 7:00 pm
Cost: 2 times/week: $180 or 1 time/week: $168 (for an 12 - week session)

Open Fitness

Participants have the opportunity to use the fitness equipment to achieve personal fitness goals. Click here for the Wellness Center Registration Page.

Open Gym

Participants have the opportunity to use the gymnasium floor space for various activities including, but not limited to basketball and volleyball. See the schedule for time details. Click here for the Wellness Center Registration Page.

SilverSneakers® Muscular Strength & Range of Motion

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of motion, and activities for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support. SilverSneakers® is a registered mark of Healthways, Inc. Spirit of Dance

A new dance program designed to meet the needs of people of all ability levels. By exploring the art of dance and necessary techniques, particpants will hone their artictic and creative abilities in an accepting, structured and nuturing environment. Ages 8 - 18. Tai Chi at the Woodlands

The Woodlands is proud to present: Tai Chi at the Woodlands! Now is your chance to try Tai Chi, an ancient practice proven to reduce pain and improve your mental and physical well-being. Experience a low impact, gentle and harmonious movements with breathing techniques, to rejuvenate your body, improve blood circulation, increase your energy level and your immune system, and
reduce stress. During the classes, you will learn the basic 2 sets of exercises: the 18 steps and the 24 forms. Recognized by The Arthritis Foundation, Tai Chi is safe, easy to learn and suitable for every fitness level. Click here for the Wellness Center Registration Page.
