Weekend Retreats

Woodlands weekend retreats are occasions like no other for children and young adults with disability, chronic illness, or special needs. These weekend escapes, whether a day or overnight program, provide opportunities for individuals or groups to choose from a variety of fun and enriching activities that involve creative expression, sports and recreation, learning, and social time.

Music Ensemble

The Woodlands Music Ensemble is an extension of the Notes From the Heart Music Camp. Participants will engage in Vocal, Instrumental and Chime Choir instruction followed by performances! The instructor for this group is Kory Antonacci, a Board Certified Music Therapist. Click here to register for Music Ensemble.

Fun & Friends

Young adults, ages 19 and up, with special needs, have the opportunity to socialize, make new friends, learn skills to help them live more independently, and enjoy new activities with this program. The group meets every Thursday, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Click here to register for Fun & Friends.

Aqua Stars

Aqua Stars is a program for individuals with disabilities of all ages. Participants will set individual goals with the instructor and have the opportunity to use the water to achieve these goals. (Water temperature is maintained at 89 degrees.) Goals include, but are not limited to, learning to swim, water walking, muscle toning and strengthening, and improving balance and flexibility. A personal assistant may be necessary in the water depending on the participant’s ability. "No Handicap Golf Club"

The No Handicap Golf Club is the only facility of its kind in our region offering year-round golf instruction and resources to children and adults of all ages and abilities. The Woodlands par-3, wheelchair-accessible golf course offers all the chance to enjoy the wonderful game of golf in an inclusive and barrier-free environment. Click here to learn more about our golf program.

Fitness Challenge

The Woodlands Fitness Challenge is a dynamic, goal-oriented fitness program specifically designed for individuals with special needs. It is a group circuit training program that will improve health and skill- related fitness components: cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance, body composition, flexibility, speed, power, agility, balance, and coordination. Those enrolled in the Fitness Challenge will be recognized based upon progression through the program. A personal assistant may be required depending on the participant’s ability.
Location: Woodlands Wellness Center
Days and Times: Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30-7:30p.m.
Fee: $120 for 2x per week ($10 per session)
$ 75 for 1x per week ($12.50 per session)
